We are glad to now being able to introduce a new book featuring a fundamental work of apostolic liturgy history: The liturgy of 1864. This book, created just after the separation of the Hamburg congregation from the catholic-apostolic congregations, was the liturgy book to be used for more than 20 years in the later apostolic congregations. Having more than 400 pages, it contains directions and rituals for the services of the week, for holidays during the church year and for special occasions, such as ordinations, baptisms, weddings etc. This book was and is groundbraking for liturgical research within the apostolic congregations. Many special elements of their liturgy originate from this liturgy.
